Biography

David Stevens has been working in the information technology field for more than 15 years. During that time he has held a series of progressively responsible IT positions in both higher education and corporate sectors. He is currently the Storage Manager for the Division of Computing Services at Carnegie Mellon University. In this position he is responsible for the institution’s iSCSI-based storage area networks (SAN) and backup services. David was instrumental in bringing Carnegie Mellon’s, Qatar Campus IT infrastructure online in time for the first undergraduate class.

David serves on the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) End-User Council Governing Board (EUC-GB).  In addition to serving on the EUC-GB, David has served as the technical lead for the Storage Networking World, IP Storage Hands-on-Lab (HOL) and currently is the theme lead for the IP Storage HOL.  As the theme lead, David is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the lab.  In his previous role, he was responsible for the technical aspects of the HOL.  He has also created a SNIA Tutorial for SNIA Storage Security Industry Forum (SSIF) on the topic of eDiscovery titled, "How E-Discovery will impact your life as a Storage Professional."

David holds a B.S. in Science from The Pennsylvania State University and is currently seeking a Master of Science in Information Technology from the Heinz School, Carnegie Mellon University.
